Devotional Reading
Every Christmas season, Christians participate in various countdown advents. Through this joyous season, we delight in the celebration of our Savior's birth. However, we must remain diligent in our remembrance of that which we needed saving from: The dreadful curse!
In Genesis 3:15 we see enmity placed between Satan and Eve’s descendants. Graciously, God promised Eve (and her offspring) that one day a son would be born that would crush the head of Satan, her enemy, finally. The son that was promised to Eve is the same son that was conceived in the virgin Mary, by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was born to save us from this curse. In contrast to Eve’s disobedience, Jesus obeys His father and redeems the nations that our first parents lost. Jesus now reigns over the house of Jacob, and of His kingdom there will be no end.
