Behold Your King Advent - Week 2: Day 4

Hymn

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 46:13

Narrative Reading

Luke 2:21-38

Devotional Reading

When Simeon held the Christ, the consolation of Israel, he knew that salvation was imminent. God had not delayed in bringing His promised salvation to the world.

This salvation was not only for the Jews, but also for the Gentile nations. Jesus was born to redeem all the nations of the world. The darkness that had once loomed heavily over the dispossessed, fallen creation was now chased away by the light of Christ. His birth had brought hope to a transgressed world.

Questions

1.) What had Simeon been promised in a dream?

2.) How many nations was Jesus born to save?

3.) What brought comfort to the dying man, Simeon?
