When God established His covenant with King David, He had promised David a son that would rule on the throne, and would establish his kingdom forever. The birth of Jesus in the city of David was a fulfillment of prophecy. The Davidic bloodline into which Jesus’ tiny frame was born into was also a promise realized. Jesus is the eternal King and Ruler of David’s throne.
